A studio that treats production as the standard.
SKUN (PTY) LTD is a South African software studio. We build client-facing web products end to end — the kind of software people rely on every day.
We started SKUN with a simple frustration: too much software ships as a demo and never grows up. Half-built portals, brittle auth, data models that buckle the moment real users arrive.
So we built a studio around the opposite idea — that the standard is production. Every project runs on a clean schema, secure access, type-safe code, and a deployment pipeline we trust. We keep the team small and the craft high, so there are fewer hand-offs and fewer things to break.
Today we build across financial services, healthcare, legal, and consumer marketplaces — from Gauteng, for clients wherever they are.
Four things we don't compromise on.
Production is the standard
We don't ship demos. Everything we build is meant to run in the real world, under real load, for real users.
One team, no hand-offs
Schema, API, UI, and deployment come from the same people. Fewer gaps means fewer things break.
Craft you can inherit
Clean, documented, type-safe code. When we hand over, you get something a pleasure to maintain.
Honest, not hype
Clear plans, realistic timelines, and plain answers. We'd rather under-promise and ship.
const skun = studio.build(yourIdea);
// production is the standard
Comfortable across industries.
Different sectors, same discipline. We've shipped regulated fintech portals and fast-moving consumer marketplaces alike.
Good to know.
Anything we didn't cover? Reach out — we reply to real people, not tickets.
What kind of projects do you take on?
Client-facing web platforms — portals, dashboards, marketplaces, and admin systems. If it needs a real data model, secure access, and a polished UI, it's in our wheelhouse.
Do you handle both design and engineering?
Yes. We run the whole delivery in-house, from schema and API design through UI to deployment. Fewer hand-offs means fewer things fall through the cracks.
What's your typical stack?
Next.js 15 with the App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase or Sanity depending on the product — all deployed to Vercel.
How do you handle handover and maintenance?
You get clean, documented code and verified production builds. We can hand over fully, stay on for support, or something in between.
Where are you based, and who do you work with?
We're based in Gauteng, South Africa, and work with clients locally and remotely. Time zone has never been the thing that slows a project down.
Have a platform to build? Let's ship it.
Tell us what you're building. We'll come back with a clear plan, a realistic timeline, and a team that delivers.
